1.26 Percentages of Amounts (Non-Calculator) GCSE PowerPoint Lesson
£2.00
In this 28-slide lesson, pupils will learn how to find percentages of amounts using mental and written arithmetic (not the multiplier method). Pupils will practise breaking down percentages into known values (e.g. 100%, 50%, 25%, 10%, 5%, 1%) to build up or subtract to find the required percentage. For example, finding 40% of 240 by calculating 10% = 24 and multiplying accordingly.
The core task focuses on straightforward percentage calculations, reinforcing number sense and encouraging flexibility in methods. A challenge section includes worded problems designed to deepen understanding and develop critical thinking.
