1.50 Negative Fractional Indices Higher GCSE PowerPoint Lesson

£2.00

In this 37-slide lesson, pupils will learn how to work confidently with negative and fractional indices without using a calculator. The lesson begins by revisiting index laws and applying them to negative powers, before moving on to fractional indices as roots. Pupils will then tackle number calculations that combine both negative and fractional indices, simplifying and evaluating them step by step. Emphasis will be placed on fluency, clear working, and recognising when to apply each index rule. This lesson strengthens pupils’ knowledge of squares, cubes and roots as well as algebraic manipulation.
